What a wonderful "Anniversary" Weekend!

Since our anniversary fell in the middle of the week we decided to go on our trip over the weekend. We decided on the Zoo in Asheboro. It was awesome. First, we left Friday and stayed with Dana who was wonderful and kept Gabby that night. Gabby had a blast with her too. She got to sleep in her room and so when she woke up, she was able to play with Aunt Dana some more. =0) We left for the zoo Saturday morning and got there around 10:15am. We made it to the other end by 4:30, and the park closes at 5pm. So then we hit the tram back, went through the gift store and headed on back to Aunt Dana's. It was such a fun day.
Enjoying a m&m.
She wanted Daddy to walk back up to the fence to see the Giraffes. This was as far as they got, but the "aw" on Gabby's face is so hilarious.

Trying to eat some dirt.

This elephant was a real showmen. She stood about 5 feet from the fence, and just stayed right there. It was great!
Big ol' Egg!!

Lonely little Ostrich!

Attempting to feed the giraffes which would not even come near the big tree house we were in with the bamboo poles hanging out with their food.
Watching the Baboons!! =0)

Flamingo time!!

Watching the duck in the next picture!!

Gabby loved this little turtle!! It was nice and kept going back in forth in front of her. =0)

Don't ya just love the sign?!!

Walking across the bridge to leave the park, these guys were underneath in a mass group. It was so cool to see how big they were. They were HUGE!

Gabby was so interested in everything! Next you need to take her to one of those kid's discovery centers!

Wow-that zoo looks a lot more "natural" than ours-more like the animals are in the wild. Maybe that's because real trees grow where you are, so everything looks green and nature-y, unlike Tucson where trees don't have much foliage and aren't so abundant.

Congratulations on 4 years. Does Clay know how lucky he is?? I'm willing to bet Aunt Dana had as much or more fun that Gabby.

Love your zoo pictures!

Congratulation on the anniversary and I wish you many many more! Gabby is a trooper. She wasn't afraid and was very interested, it appears, in all of the animals. She looks like a joy to take on an outing. And her fondness for dirt is humorous. I guess she has to try it wherever she goes! Bernice
